Calculations, settings and saved quotes stay on the device, not in a Nightshift cloud account. The app reminds you to make a backup, and that file is how you move records to a new phone or restore them if this one is lost.

Can I buy it now?
Not yet. The web checkout has closed while Tradie Toolkit is rebuilt for a proper Google Play release. Pricing and the launch date will be published before release.
Why move it to Google Play?
Installing a paid web app from an emailed link asked too much of buyers. Google Play gives the app a familiar install, update and payment path on Android.
Does it work without reception?
After it has been opened on the device, the toolkit is designed to work without a network connection. That makes it useful on sites with patchy reception.
Where are my quotes stored?
On the device you use. There is no Nightshift account and no cloud copy. One tap makes a backup file you can save to Files, iCloud, Google Drive, or email yourself, and the toolkit reminds you if it has been a week since your last one. Restoring shows a preview before anything changes, and a deleted quote sits in the Recycle bin for 30 days with Undo. Skip backups and losing the device, or clearing the browser, can still lose your data.
Will my quotes appear on a new phone?
Not automatically. Restore a backup file on the new phone to bring them across.
Does the client see my costs or margin?
Not in the client copy or the PDF. Both show the scope, business details and client price. Always check what you are sending before it goes out.
Does it make invoices?
Yes. Turn a quote into an invoice with one tap, mark it paid, and overdue invoices are flagged automatically. When you are GST registered, it prints as a tax invoice. It still is not accounting software: there is no BAS, ledger or in-app payment collection, and you record payment yourself.
What is the difference between margin and markup?
Margin is profit as a share of the selling price. Markup is the amount added to cost. If a job costs $8,000 and you add 25%, the quote is $10,000; the $2,000 profit is a 20% margin.
Does it handle GST?
Yes. Set whether you are GST registered, and the toolkit can add GST to quotes and invoices, mark GST-free lines separately, and print as a tax invoice when you are registered. The Tools tab also has a quick calculator to add or remove GST. It is an arithmetic helper, not tax advice.
Can I reuse an old quote?
Yes. Duplicate it into a new draft, then change the details and price without changing the original.
I already bought the web app. Do I lose access?
No. Existing buyers keep their private access and can still request a replacement access link from the app. The Google Play release is the path for new customers.
Can it tell me whether I should register for GST?
No. Check your circumstances with an accountant or the ATO. Tradie Toolkit only applies the setting you choose.
